Intermediate Cruising Course

Cape Breton Sailing School is the Start of the Adventure.

Course Structure:

  • Passage Planning & Living afloat
  • Navigation using charts, compass, and electronics.
  • Preparation for Sea
  • Two crew man over board methods
  • Emergency Situations
  • Adverse Weather Conditions
  • Managing and understanding the boats internal systems
  • Advanced sail trim and rigging
  • Flying a spinnaker.

Our Intermediate course is for sailors who have their basic cruising standard or have plenty of experience in keelboats.
You will develop improved sailing skills, emphasizing efficient sailing, including sail trim, helming technique controlled gybing and tacking. If time and weather permit ,we will also experience flying a code zero, and tri radial spinnaker.

This liveaboard course runs from Sunday to Friday and is a six day five nights liveaboard format. At least four nights are spent in idyllic anchorages and one night at another marina.
This longer course coupled with a smaller class size of two students and instructor and a  superb cruising area provides sufficient time for coaching and practise to meet the skills required.
The cost for the six day course is $2380 per person.
